ABOUT ST. ANDREW’S THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE
The St. Andrew’s Theological College, herein after referred to as SATC, is a Tertiary Level Institution situated at Rushworth Street Extension, San Fernando, Trinidad, West Indies. Founded in 1892 to provide training for leaders in the local Presbyterian Church, SATC now offers theological training at many levels ranging from certificate to degree/licentiate level in an ecumenical setting to equip persons for different forms of Christian ministry locally, regionally and internationally. SATC also offers training to individuals who just want to increase their knowledge in their faith.
SATC LIBRARY
St Andrew’s Theological College (SATC) recognizes the significant role the library plays in supporting the SATC mission to prepare “its students for leadership marked by faith, integrity, scholarship, and competence in the Church and the wider community”. The library plays an integral supporting role in the education of SATC students. The materials in the library are also accessible for use by the staff of the college. The library also caters to the leaders of the Presbyterian Community and persons conducting research projects.
SATC LIBRARY STAFFING
The Principal is responsible for the overall management of the SATC Library. However the SATC Library has on its establishment one library assistant on a part-time basis to provide the library service.
SATC LIBRARY CONSULTANTS
The Library Consultants provide professional library services required in the library. Currently two library consultants assist with the administrative and operational aspects of the library.
SATC STUDENT LIBRARY VOLUNTEERS PROGRAM
SATC encourages student participation in a volunteer programme to develop their leadership and team spirit by assisting with the general tasks of the library. Currently four student volunteers are enrolled in the programme.
SATC LIBRARY COMMITTEE
To ensure effective administration of the library, the SATC Library Committee was established to oversee the operations of the library. The Committee is chaired by the principal and the committee members comprise the library assistant, the volunteers and the consultants.
